Flora lives in Crackpot Hall, one of only four Great Houses in Califa. The others each have a magickal butler to keep things clean and take care of the family. But Mamma has banished Crackpot¹s butler so now there is only Flora to care for its eleven thousand rooms.

Mamma is the Warlord¹s Commanding General, and older sister Idden has joined the army as well. Flora is expected to do so when she turns fourteen, but hates the idea and wants to become a ranger. Mamma would not approve.

When Flora discovers the banished butler her life begins to change...but for better or worse? Then she discovers her Mamma has captured the Dainty Pirate, friend Udo¹s hero. Flora and Udo decide it is up to them to save him.

Flora is a spunky heroin who learns to fight through the tough times and become her own woman, and does it in a fun background of magickal creatures and fantastical houses.
