Susan and Jed are throwing another party. This time its their 30th anniversary and Susan has gone all out planning an extravaganza at the Landing Inn where the couple spent their wedding night in Oxford Ct. As frequently happens at a Henshaw party, a body appears. This time its their next door neighbor, found by a jury to be innocent just that day of attempting to poison her husband. Where else would she be found but in the Henshaws bed in their room under a pile of anniversary gifts. So did she poison her hubby afterall? Or did she plan her own murder? It seems the victim bought the house next door just to live next door the the intriguing Mrs. Henshaw who has a habit of amateur sleuthing. And the victim told her daughter to be sure Susan investigated if she died suspiciously. Susan realizes the victim even directed her choices for location of the party. "An Anniversary to Die For" is a delightful spoof on the very genre this series represents.
As usual the lives of most series regulars move forward in nearly real time. Jinx appears again, this time as the author of soon to be published "Men I Have Known, and How I Killed Them". Romance is in the air as Jinx falls for a small town newsman, Brett and Erika are newlywed, and Chrissy and spouse and their dogs are visiting the Henshaws. And just who is Kathleen knitting that baby gift for? This is Wolzien at her very best.
