Series: Charlotte Justice # 4

Charlotte Justice is an African-American woman trying to solve crimes while dealing with a life full of career and family problems. Due to the stresses of recent cases, she has been ordered to see the 'bullshit shrink', the name cops use to refer to the doctors at the Behavioral Sciences Services. Unhappy with the idea in general, she specifically is eager to get back to work on a cold case that seems to be heating up.

Woods gives the reader a birds-eye view of what itıs like to be black as well as a female in a testosterone-laden police department. The story is a complex tale of corporate intrigue as well as family secrets, both that of the CZ Toy founders as well as her own family. The plot twists and turns as Charlotte travels from LA through the California countryside and back. Troubles with her boyfriend Aubrey make life even more difficult. This is the fourth in a series of police procedurals starring Charlotte.
