Not a cozy but wonderful. Her writing style is reminiscent of Pearl Buck. Its the second in a 2 book series with lots of references to previous history between the prince, the princess and the lady-in-waiting so I wish I'd read "The Exile Way" first. But it is a swashbuckler of an adventure as Lady Aoi discovers dangerous men and unpuzzles more dangerous activities close to the royal household, and as a consequence is endangered in many ways including a kidnapping and long trip in dangerous company.
