This fast-paced spoof takes on two genres - mystery and science fiction - during their Golden Ages and merges the hardboiled PI into a setting that takes all the technological marvels of classic science fiction and then kicks them both up a notch.

In 2061, information is so easily accessible that most people have no need to hire a PI. Only when the information they need is connected to a situation so dangerous that no one else will touch it, do they hire the last remaining PI - Zachary Nixon Johnson - and his two assistants - one holographic one and one human.

Santana Clausa, the stunning beautiful mutant manager of the universal midwinter holiday, Holiday, has such a delicate and dangerous, not to say explosive, situation on her hands. Two elves have been murdered at the North Pole, and this unprecedented double tragedy might indicate the existence of a threat to the Holiday. Since the Holiday is essential to the stability of the earth, Zach is off to the North Pole to investigate the situation and defuse any threat, fighting off murder attempts all the way.

Readers who like spoofs should thoroughly enjoy this example, particularly if they are familiar with the genres on which 'The Frost-Haired Vixen' is based. Others might find the jokes become just a little tedious with repetition.
